The grass is really realistic and the background looks like a painting - all that mixed together confers to the final image not only the sense of speed but also an enchantment to the eye

The water could have more detail to make it more realistic, & the Sonic character kind of looks out of place, but pretty neat work. The look works very well.

I think your water is very detailed and realistic lookin to match your environment very nicely. I've noticed that on this updated version here, Sonic isn't the only thing you reworked... You've made the rings smaller as well

this one is so much cooler than the your first!! the detail is great and the non-blurry look is very appealing. not saying the first is bad.. just not as good as this one.
i hated these levels as well. kept getting caught by the rising water! whats the red ball bobbing in the water?

This is so neat xD I want to try painting realistic versions of old game backgrounds.
And now I want to go play our sega. I hate the water rising levels too Dx I can't get through them. And it's always so nerve wracking seeing your breath run out o_o;
