Description
This is the Imp, the next speculative evolution creature I'll discuss from my project/seed planet Gorgaias.

The Imp is a carnivorous descendant of the Bald Uakari. It is only distantly related to another Bald Uakari descendant, the Manticore , belonging to what would be taxonomically considered a separate family within the same order.

The size of a largish house cat, the Imp and its relative fill the niches of felines. The short jaws are strong and filled with sharp and shearing teeth, while large round eyes offer excellent sight even at night, which is when the Imp often hunts. The ears are very large and offer great hearing and the sense of smell is keen. The upper body is covered in a voluminous layer of fur that can actually be raised when the creature Imp is excited or afraid and can make it look larger than it is. The legs are strong and the fingers are shortened and end in sharp claw-like nails reinforced with extra keratin. The fingers are no longer as dextrous as they were in the ancestral Uakari, but offer better stability when chasing prey on the ground; there is still a degree of flexibility and ability to manipulate objects with its fore feet (hands). similar to a cat. The soles of the feet are covered in protective calluses that keep in comfortable on rough ground terrain.
