I tried to guess what the image was before reading the description. I guessed "Our (humanity's) Beginning, End & Legacy"
...I was wrong! 
Somewhat disturbed by metal high heels built into the design.

Hehe, the metal high heels!! Yea, that was a pretty wicked idea. But for the story of this character it serves its purpose.

I think the whole piece could look better without those textures - designs are really interesting and I think they don't need extra decoration. I would also add some more contrasted light-shadow moments. But this is quite nice anyway!

Well I can agree with you in someway that the background is not strongest part of this, but it needed "something". Having the three lined up next to each other without connection was just plain... dull. In the end I was happy with how it turned out, thus I didn't look any further. I was running out of time for this work so I really couldn't spend more time on it.

I'm not complaining, if that's what the client wants than that's what the client gets, but it just makes me feel like the characters were designed to appeal to fourteen year old boys. Still that doesn't make the designs any less impressive and doesn't mean the game won't be any good.

No no, I'm glad you're voicing your opinion. I don't take it as a complaint ^^
I, however know more of the characters, and I can tell you that the designs are not solemnly to appeal 14yo boys. At the contrary, the game and its characters will present the player with very deep and mature matters. Political and ethical questions are thrown at the player with buckets.
Character designs are therefor created to enforce the nature of those question.
