Description
*QUALITY VARIES FROM COMPUTER TO COMPUTER*Entry for ~Mylar 's contest! found here [link] I am competeing for the blue unicorn book
This piece is inspired by the Mortal Intrument Series by Cassandra Clare. In the book runes are what give the Nephillim (Humans with the blood of angels created to rid the world of demons) thier extra abilities. They draw these on themselves by using a stele. They have marks for everything.
Going along the arm for the black marks......
1 - The Eye - It is on the hand of every shadowhunter. It means clairvoyant sight.
2 - This means fearless. It takes away any fear you feel while the rune lasts. It was created by Clary Fray in the book.
3 - This is a healing rune with the name Iritaze. It speeds up the healing process after injury.
4 - next to the elbow is strength. It of course gives you extra strength.
5 - Just above the elbow is heightened speed. It does what the name implies, makes you go faster
6 - The one above is soundless. It allows you to be surefooted, careful and silent when moving.
7 - Insight/Foresight is on the shoulder. This allows you to see what may happen in the near future.
The white marks are faded runes and are as follows.......
1 - On the forearm is speak in tongues. While the mark lasts you can speak in numerous languages.
2 - Gift/Talent is on the elbow. This enhances your gift or talent.
3 - on the upper arm is deflect/block. It of course enhances your deflecting/blocking skills.
These runes are the main focus of this deviation but on the sword there are norse runes which of course spell out Symbolica. The vikings would occasionally also create runes to dedicate to their gods like Odin, Aridva and others.
Behind all this is an alchemical circle. In alchemy and in myth these configurations would be used to enhance power, summon supernatural beings and so on. This little bit was inspired a bit by the Alchemyst Series which might I add is equally as awesome
I chose to revolve this piece around runes not just because of the mystery and sheer epicness that surround them but also because of the power related to them. All types of runes are in someway shape and form are associated with power. Man i just love them.
Heres a short paragraph story......
Mora spotted a movement in the shadows. Slowly she moved to follow it, the last part of her left in the sunlight was her left arm clearly showing the runes that covered it. Runes for speed, protection and state of mind. Some were faded but there was no time to retrace them. She lifted her sword, a rare piece of craftmanship. A viking powered sword, very effective in killing drevak demons. Then she dissapeared, as if into thin air.
Hope you all like it!!!

I love it! But just so you know. Iratze is healing physical injuries. That rune is Hurt-Not, Iratzes are known for a four-point star like shape.
