I think there's shows where the "in love with one guy" factor is way worse. After all it's based on a dating game, so you need plenty of females to pick from. I think in the anime they gave each girl a useful purpose rather than just being another pair of boobs that was following him around (the only one that truly did that was Eruruu...).
And she wasn't his relative Puru.... I'm not gonna write spoilers here thou >_<
