I think she's acted pre-emptively actually. Left up to the other's imaginations, who knows what she'd get called.
Our hero/heroine is the one I'm worried about. She's bound to get called Patch or Patches.

I don't think Patches would be a particularly nice thing to call her either, but kids are cruel, thus why Batty decided to supply her own nickname.
