Description
More cold formed convex discs, this time welded to flat squares in a bracelet.there is a seafoam greenish blue glass bead set in the center link. The links are 1+ 1/4 wide.
Welded stainless steel.
I definitely need to do another bracelet like this, but next time preform the squares to the curvature of my wrist. Somehow I failed to remember to do that on this one. I may make this into a choker by adding more links.

I tried both your suggested techniques and they broke anyway. I then switched to other woods for these aps. But it's also possible that particular piece was TOO dry...

Or it had pre-existing cracks or flaws. Sounds like flawed wood to me. Even the most brittle un-flawed wood should be able to stand up under those conditions, even if dry. I would probably have tried something like dropping it into hot beeswax to salvage it, but it probably wouldn't have helped. I can say that the ebony I've seen so far is not even close to that brittle. So, did you go for convex sections, or leave them straight?

I actually left them straight but the bolt through them was forged square(excep the threaded ends),and their holes were filed out square ,so they could not rotate.
I really like the convex idea though.

Hmm. I hadn't thought of square holes. That's a good solution to the rotation issue. The handles weren't being exposed to fluctuating temperatures, were they?

Animated gif huh ?
Can photoshop convert my 15 seconds of digital video footage to an animated gif ?Or rather what program would I have to use?
So even if it's a small sculpture slowly rotating on a little turntable, they would have to approve it on artistic merit ?
Hell,maybe I'll challenge them.
Some pieces cannot be understood in only one dimension(1 view)like a static photograph.
While photographing my recent post called "Bifurcated Organic Form",I became frustrated because the pattern on the surface of the ball cannot be realized in it's totality with rotating it...and since I have the short video option on my camera...

Honestly, I'm not sure whether Photoshop can do it, as Photoshop is outside my price range. I've never tried doing such a conversion. I know how to make an animation from still frames, but not how to convert. I can do a little research if you like.
If you do challenge them, let me know if you pass. They make the submission sound kinda complex in the faq. I think you could pass, however, as long as your video quality is good, and camera steady.

I can make the video crisp and clear,
Do you think I should ask the help desk AHEAD OF TIME,because my application of this medium is for archival rather than artistic purpose, but it would absolutely enhance the understanding of a three dimensional piece and will most certainly be the wave of the future for sculpture portfolios...

Hmm. You might contact the admin in charge of the film gallery. I'm really not sure how useful the helpdesk would be for this.
I do know that a couple members of the Artistic Nude gallery have been allowed to do slideshows of material released elsewhere, and "behind the scenes on a shoot" type things.

Yes, administration.
I think that's the way to go.
I can plead my case effectively I think, especially on the grounds that "it's the coming thing" as a media to show three dimensional work.
