Created in 3ds Max and rendered with Mental ray.Finished in Photoshop
I wanted to experiment with showing age and decay and using one of my previously created models I created this image.
Its also a reflection of how Formula 1 has moved on from the simple yet in my opinion beautiful design and when it was all about the driver to a time that sometimes sacrifices that in the pursuit of technology which is not necessarily a bad thing but has sometimes lead to disappointing results.

I wouldn't consider the McLaren MP4 era a simpler time, but I guess it's a matter of perspective.Β To my mind it all went wrong when Lotus 79 aerodynamics caught on and Renault gained ground with the 1.5 liter turbo.Β It snowballed from there to the wind tunnel inspired abominations they now call Formula One
