Description
Sorry for the ugly watermark, but i don't want it to get used by anybody.I thought i post a little anatomy guide for my geisha bats, i noticed that they don't really get drawn like they should be. I know the styles and materials artists use make the shape of geisha's vary. But still they have a few things which have to be drawn right or visible. uvu
There are currently (since my last adoptable batch) 2 types of geisha bats. Giant Geisha Bats and Minions. I made the mistake that i used the chibi base for geisha bats adoptables. And a few are already drawn and they are cute the way they are now. The little wings and everthing makes this a new type of geisha bat. ; v ;
Common appeareance of a geisha bat:
A geisha bat has one pair of wings, forelegs and hindlegs. Giant geisha bats wings are bigger than their body. A minion's wings are smaller than their body.
GIANT GEISHA BAT
1 | Ears: A giant geisha bats ears big, but not as big and close together than a minion geisha bat's ears. Geisha bats are beeings with a sharp hearing sin. They can rotate their ears 180°. The ears are never floppy or folded. This can happen in a fight with another GB or in an escape of a predator.
2 | Fluff/Mane: A giant geisha bat's mane is extreme fluffy and ranges from their belly over their sholders, neck and back of their head. sometimes the fur coveres the eyes of a geisha bat, which isn't bad, as they have a bad eyesight.
3 | Wings: General wing span of a giant geisha bat is double their body length, messured from ear tip to tail tip. Their wings are
4 | Body: Geisha bats have very short bodies. They don't have to walk much nor run. They have baggy legs, which are fat resources if their main food sourse might run out. The arms are strong and pouch sack is connected to their sides. its a soft skin pouch which is covered in a fine but very short fur/hair. Sometimes their fat resavoirs are different filled which gives the leg a unbalanced look. Like boobs of a women. they are never perfect shape. one booby is most of the time smaller than the other.
5 | Tails: Their tails are long and thin. The wing skin is connected to the tail for better flying and glideing. The tail tips is always shaped like a fan. Sometimes you can see them playing with its tail or faning air to them by holding the tails like a geisha their fan.
6 | Forearms & Pouches: The pouch is connected to their thighs. The sack is usually flexible enough to store up double the weight of their body. Their arms are strong enough to hold the fruits. Geisha bats have a strong muscle which closes the pouch for the flight. Sometimes the sack is too full for the muscle to close.
7 | Nose & Teeth: Geisha bats have extra big noses, it might seem to be my drawing style, but they are actually this big. They have big noses because they need an extra sharp smell for finding the perfect fruits. The ripest, and most fruity fruit to eat. Geisha bats are herbivores tho they have sharp fangs to poke through hard covered fruits.
8 | Size Comparison:
Giant geisha bats are small enough to fit in your hand. approximatly: 15cm - 30cm
Minions are the smallest types of geisha bats ever recorded. Their size reaches from 2cm to max. 5cm.
MINIONS
Minions are smaller geisha bats which often gather arround a giant geisha bat. Either to clean them from their hard work or to play with them. Minions are not geisha bat babies. Baby geisha bats are bigger than minions.
Minions need to have big ears to hear their 'Core - Geisha' in the colony. A core geisha is the geisha bat that alows the minions to keep company. Normally a core geisha has mx 5 minions around them.
9 | Ears: A minion's ears are bigger and rub at each other, which often make a chirping noise. Minions communicate through ear chirping or loud screeching.
10 | Fluff / Mane: The minion's fluff or mane is not so fluffy than a giant's mane. The fur is still soft and fluffy.
11 | Forearms & Pouch: Minion's dont use their pouch sacks. If they use them then only for short flights from A to B. To get bugs or their Core a special treat. A minion's forarms are weak little twigs, which can easily break.
12 | Wings & Tail: A minion's wings are not connected to their tail, than of a giant geisha.
13 | Nose & Teeth: Minion's have a strange lip shape, it doesnt have any advantages of the giants. Evolution tried to make this little thing look more dangerous than the big ones. Minions are the only Geisha bats which nose types vary. They can either have natural bat shaped noses or other shapes as spades or star noses. The teeth of a minion are sharp and pointy, they also have only four fangs, which allows them to poke into the neck of a giant geisha and drink their sweet blood.
Yes, Minion geisha bats are the only geisha's which drink blood. only bits of flood their other main nutrition is fruit juice.
POUCH
14: Flat pouch sack
15: Filled pouch sack
NUTRITION
Giant geisha bat: fruits, vegetables, honey
Minion geisha bat: blood, fruit and/or vegetable juice, honey
OTHER
Are minions able to live on their own, without a Core geisha?
Yes, Minions are able to live on their own, even if the don't have a core geisha. Not every giant geisha is a core geisha.
It is not known how a giant geisha becomes a core geisha. Sometimes minions gather around a baby geisha, they want to protect it in any way. Some think the minions gather around a giant geisha to have a better chance surviving.
How many geisha bats am i allowed to hold/have?
You can maximal have 3 giant geisha bats.
If you have a geisha bat, which is a core - geisha you can have up to max. 5 minions.
Example: you have two giant geishas and one of those geisha's is a core geisha, you can have a max of 5 minions. You own 7 geisha bats in total.
BTW
for everyone who bough a geisha bat from my last adoptable batch, you can choose between a giant geisha bat and a minion, because i used the chibi base for an giant geisha bat, but idk i don't wanted to say, you drew it wrong, so i created the minions uvu
just leave a comment with you want a giant geisha bat or a minion. (only those who bought one of this batch: Huge adoptable batch

awesome! I'm trying to design the bat form for my vampire jolly- on the sheet it said he could turn into a 'bloodthirst' geisha bat, is there a specific ref for those or can I design his form based off geishas?

sure, I'd love that! just link it to me in a note or here or wherever.
and no pressure, I'd just be designing his form for fun rather than for any solid official ref. If I get something wrong you can let me know and I can always change it! I'm cool with anything.
