Description
I would like to go and ski there.Some words from this one : This is pretty much all what I can do with World Machine + Terragen + Canon 3000 and Photoshop. Used all my skills when creating this (and learned many new too). Sky is from old photo of mine which I took last summer. I think it fits pretty well over those mountains.
Well, I don't have anything more to say. Hopefully you like this as much as I do.

uh, I am so glad to finally see someone who renders his terragen *without* clouds and uses (his own) photography for it
and the result is a pretty stunning piece! the terrain is nicely done, and the texture quite convincing 
and another thing...using photography is fine, and definately a must when it comes to clouds, but you should either take a photo without too much grain, or retouch the image a bit to smoothen it out...in this case the grain is really clearly visible and disturbs the overall look. it's a bit too hard in general for my taste.
anyways, despite those crits, it remains a stunning piece, and I cannot say that terragen pieces do convince me too often.
the colours are natural looking and the terrain must have been quite some effort.
if I might suggest a thing....what misses is just something additional, to make it look like a capture of a real scene... a ski-er (not sure how this called, sorry for my english, but I am sure you know what I mean) for example, with some dusty snow around him in the background, or the silhouettes of some people standing at the peak.

do you fucking see my icon!!?? I love this its amazing! Ive never skiied in the mountains before, Ive been banished to the twin cities for my area of residency and have nothing but the shit-crusted scapes of Afton Alps to work with. By the way, wwe have NO snow right now. On the slopes, a thin layer of ice is all that seperates your skis from the ground.....unless of course you venture to the part ofthe hill WITH the ground then your skiing on dirt.

oh wow man..thats awesome..if i had to complain about anything (which i actually dont) i'd say that the material on farther off mountains looks a bit too layered, emphasizing the strata to what (to me) is a bit too much. otherwise, that kicks ass.
