Colette woke up to the sun shining into her room from the window. Today was the day she left home to go to the academy. The Academy she thought to herself. Ugh. She wasn't looking forward to this. Why did she have to go? She hated flying. She liked running. Running was fun. Flying was not. All the sudden her mother broke into her thoughts.

"Honey, come down for breakfast" Her mother called.

Colette got dressed and walked down the stairs, wishing to stay home, or stay in bed.

"How was your sleep?" Her mother asked.
"It was great" Colette lied.

She had barely slept that night, all that she could think about was the academy, the griffin, and flying. Of coarse flying.

"Thats good! Eat up, you have a big day ahead of you!" Her mother said.

Colette nodded and started eating her food, soon to finish. She walked upstairs and grabbed her suitcase and backpack and put them by the door. She turned around and saw her father walking out of his room.

"Hello, Colette! I see your packed and ready to go" Her father said.
"Yea, I guess so" Colette said, looking at the suitcase.
"No pet carrier?" He asked.
"Nah, Stresk doesn't like them." Colette said.

Her father nodded and walked into the kitchen to eat his own food with his wife.

Colette looked out the window and heard a big thump.

"Oh! That's your ride!" Her mother chimed, walking to the door.
"Fun..." Colette said, putting her backpack on her back.
"Now now, dear, be happy!" Her mother smiled.
"Hmph" Colette said, and Stresk came running down and jumped onto the suitcase as Colette pulled it outside.
"Hello!" Colettes mother said to the griffin.
"Get on, dear!" Her mother said to her.

Colette lifted up her suitcase and put it onto the griffin. She climbed back down and picked up Stresk, lifting him up to the griffin. She climbed back down and looked at her mother.

"Oh, I will miss you!" Her mother said, running to her to giver her hug.
"I'll miss you too, mom" Colette said.
"Hey! Wheres my hug?" Her father laughed.

Colette smiled and ran up to her father to give him a hug, waved good bye to her parents, and climbed onto the big griffin, still waving goodbye to her parents, who were also waving. Colette smiled and the griffin flew high up into the air, to the point where Colette could touch the clouds. Colette looked at the griffin and decided to climb up to his head and by his ear.

"Oh, um, hello.." Colette said.
"I'm Grogen." The griffin said.
"Oh, well I'm Colette..and my cat is Stresk" Colette said.
"Good, very good.." Grogen said.

Colette crawled back to Stresk and shrugged. Stresk nodded and made a loud meow.

"What was that?" Grogen asked.
"It was Stresk" Colette said.
"He shouldn't be so loud..or..they'll come..." Grogen said.
"Who's 'they'?" Colette asked.
"Just hope you don't find out" Grogen answered mysteriously.

Colette felt uneasy. 'Just hope you don't find out' he said. She looked around, and saw nothing but the open sky. Who, or what, was they? She could tell Stresk was wondering the same thing. He looked nervous and uneasy. Out of no where, Grogen roared loudly and flew upwards fast, running from something.
