Apparently, Wikipedia claims that Rommel is a teetotaler, yet he's clearly drinking both here, as well as in another photo.

I've never seen the other photo.  Doesn't Erwin know how terrible alcohol might be on his poor stomach which he mentions every other paragraph in Infantry Attacks?

Then again, it could be a masculinity thing. Erwin doesn't want to show his weakness, so he just goes along with it anyway.

That sounds plausible.  Or he could be like Dean Martin and replace the alcohol with apple juice when no one's looking.

I know that once on Hitler's birthday (I'm thinking his 50th..?) a brewery in Germany made nonalcoholic beer in celebration.  The brewery was in Munich somewhere.

I'm going off topic here, but Persian stores have some of the best nonalcoholic beer, and some of them are even flavored (lemon, peach, etc.). There are a lot of them out here, especially in LA and the Bay Area.
What's even better: you can even get a hold of those elusive Kinder eggs there too. I need to stop before someone thinks I'm a spamming bot.

Ooooh, the Kinder eggs! I'll have to find a Persian store somewhere around here then.

I saw something about "RIP Anton" in the comments of a YouTube video and have to admit I assumed it would be something like a drug overdose (I know, I have no faith in celebrities).  Then I researched it a little more and read what happened.  At least they say he died pretty quickly.
