ATC="Artist Trading Card". I bought a little pack of blanks for these today and it made me soooo happyyyyyyyyyy. Which is pretty ridiculous, because number one, I don't actually have anyone to trade cards with, and number two, I could totally just have made them myself as opposed to buying them (the ones I bought were bristol, but I have this HUGE pad of bristol anyway and an ATC can basically be anything that's 2.5x3.5 inches). BUT I MEAN IT MADE ME FEEL BETTER SO WHATEVAH MAN.These things are so cute, though! I usually work really small, so these are perfect for me.
Mediums: colored pencil, ink, and many many gel pens. In real life it's only about 2/3's this size and is also very sparkly.

This is fantastic. It reminds me a little of Alphonse Mucha's work. Very Art Nouveau (I'm not really sure how to spell that last word. Then again, it IS like 4:30 am... I should be sleeping...)

And that your skills are the awesomety-awesomeness. The background to this? Orgasmic. And those flowers really pop out. You used a different medium for the black sky, right? (Or it looks like you did) Either way, it's a pretty cool effect.

Artist trading cards? Never heard of them. So it's like an art trade in bristol form? Interesting. I like the window with the flowery border. It's a pretty pattern, and the background too. Is that the character for south in the corner?

No, it's not. It can be anything as long as the piece is flat enough to fit in a card sleeve and measures 2.5x3.5 inches. Usually the medium is traditional, though digital prints are made and traded as well.
And yes, that's the character for "south".

This is such an awesome picture! I love the bright colors and the background is very cool, reminds me of the art nouveu style. The idea of artist trading cards is pretty sweet - does each card have a different picture on it?

Yeah, the BG is Mucha-inspired. I was rooting through Walter's books like a nosy bastard and found a book of his illustrations and I thought they were extremely keeeeen.
The card can either be an original piece of work or a print, but apparently some people only like to trade originals, and so on. It can basically be anything you want, as long at it's a 2.5x3.5 rectangle. It's usually traditional media.
