Well I say both attempts have their plus points. But personally, I liked your version a bit more. His final image definitely shows his professional skill.
The metallic colors and luster you have put on these are remarkable combined with appropriate metal texture! I wish you be less angry about the things in life and do more fractal like these! Hehehehe!

And yeah, I wish I could be less angry too, but it's kinda hard when you have an incurable genetic disorder that causes chronic pain in most of my joints.

Actually, it is a mix of ten layers... mostly i used S.F.B.M II and Triangles.

I like this one a great deal. ~milleniumsentry may have the edge on composition, but the texturing and lighting of your piece is very nicely done. I love the bit of graphic design with the title and the overall airy effect of the piece really appeals to me.
