Ahhh, I finally got around to joining this group! ;v; I'd actually stumbled upon Wildlings a long, long time ago (I think around the time even before I knew what a species was, within the context of deviantART)-- but back then, I didn't really know the "lay of the land" on dA, as it were, and so I just didn't join. I'm really glad I got the chance to make this guy, though! I love birds, and the fact that Nerensis Wildlings are often based on birds is perfect! ^^

I'd originally been wondering whether I should make him based on an Egyptian Goose or on a White-Throated Swift (the bird I just recently tried to raise), but I'd already had a design idea in mind for the goose, so I decided to go with that. ;v;

So here he is! ^^ Feel free to ask if your Wildlings can be friends or have some sort of relationship with him! If you do, though, please describe why you think they might interact well with each other (since Alo can be pretty... antisocial :'3).

Name: Alopochen (Nicknames: Pochen; very rarely, Alo or Po)-- this is the first scientific/Latin name of the Egyptian Goose.

Gender: Male

Clan: Nerensis

Clan Traits Used:
~Proud demeanour
~Golden hooves and horn
~Coating of oil on his fur
~Based on a bird (Egyptian Goose)
~Lack of excess fur/fetlocks
~Red Eyes
~Sharpened upper canines (though it is a bit difficult to see on this reference)

Occupation: Shopkeeper-- he finds beautiful stones in or around the lake and makes them into jewellery or simply sells them on their own. Occasionally, he'll craft using other materials (such as bird skulls and feathers, which he finds, much like he did with his own accessories).

Likes: Creating, being (mostly) alone, playing board games, speaking with someone he knows well, mints (of various sorts), Egyptian Geese.

Dislikes: Stuttering (he has a faint stutter), others knowing he is weak or has his faults, being in large crowds, speaking in front of large crowds, lots of eyes on him/attention, hard/sweaty work.

Personality: Quiet, somewhat unkind, does not know when to hold his tongue, short-tempered, impatient, loyal (though to a fault), submissive, occasionally charming, generous.

Backstory: Alopochen had travelled for most of his foalhood, as his parents had not found their place in Nerensis. Alopochen was very confused as to what their reasons for moving were, but he felt he had no choice but to follow them. He grew up as a rather shy foal, in spite of his proud heritage. His parents pushed him around a lot, and he never learnt to speak back to them. The day he left them, too, he did so quietly, without confrontation. He felt he could not bear to hear their complaints of his moving away, He also knew, however, that he could not stay on the move for the rest of his life.
Alopochen travelled all the way back to the land of the Nerensis, all by himself. He developed a very severe fear of bears and other predators during this time. This is normal, of course, but he is more paranoid even than he should be. Because of this, however, Alopochen believes himself to be a coward, deep down. He attempts to hide this by 1) isolating himself for the most part and 2) acting strong and aloof around others. He has never wanted to hear from his parents again, and any letters he got from them he has stored in his lakeside house. He attempted to appear larger since he rejoined the Nerensis, since he was a rather small foal as well, by adding a plumed cravat and a plumed tail band to himself. He has often used his small amount of magic to fluff these up, in an attempt to appear more threatening. It has only rarely worked, of course... But then, he hardly ever sees others anyway. He does, but he prefers to keep to himself as often as he can.
He is currently residing in the Nerensis clan.

Paired with: No one just yet. (He'll need someone to be there for him for quite a while before he finally sees how much he likes them-- he's a bit imperceptive that way. c': )

Family: None yet. (I'll be pretty picky on this, though, considering he left his parents, who had left Nerensis; any relatives would likely be more distant. x'3)
