Description
Created as a request for 's Gamma Fleet Operations.Note: I am aware the by design a Nebula class starship cannot separate it's saucer section at will like the Galaxy class does, only in case of emergency.
However, part of *Turbulence1973 's request was that it can and I figured that might potentially be an option. Therefore, this Nebula class has a battle bridge and impulse engines on the stardrive section.
I'm generally not a huge fan of non-canon designs, but in this case it's within the realm of possibility and I guess it works.

Thanks, but the credit for the idea goes to *Turbulence1973 . I've just created this composition based on his idea.

Thank you. I don't generally call my own stuff anything, but I'm glad you think so.

I'm so glad. Think you might try the second request?

Now, that's a rare sight. Didn't even know the Nebula was capable for saucer separation. Looks great, the stardrive section is badass! Fantastic render

Thank you.
However, it's not capable of sauer speraration. Not like that. As I stated in the description, this was part of the request, involving a fan based story line. The Nebula in canon context is only capable of emergency saucer separation, like most Starfleet ships. The stardrive section is jettisoned and reattachment could not happen without a drydock.
In this case, as per the request, it was suppose to be able to do a saucer sep similar to the Galaxy class, so I decided to give it a battle bridge and impulse engines.

Amazing render !
I really love the colors and rather dark look of the scene. The glows on nacelles are really cool as well - they bleed the color nicely onto the hull. If there is anything I don't like it's the phaser - it seems more like a tube with a noise map applied. Trek lasers are always a bit more "wavy" looking so I like to push them slightly around just so that the main line is straight with a lot of "waves" around it.

Thanks. It's not all render. All the special effects (weapons, explosions, hull damage and some - not all - of the glows) are post worked. I suppose I could render those, too, but I like having the 'artistic freedom' of postwork. Allows me more control, and more direct control at that.
The phaser is a Photoshop based effect I created a while ago. It's in my gallery as well under 'resources'. There are some 'waves' in the beam, but the color layers I applied to achieve the slight blue-ish tinge might have distorted that a little.

Thanks.I always try to get close to the show in terms of effects. It's all a learning curve. Otherwise it wouldn't be fun!
