Thank you for taking the time to write your critique. Much appreciated!
I believe, however, that what you thought is the Ion cannon in the background, may have been intended as one of Hoth's moons. At least I believe that was my plan, but I can certainly see how it can work both ways!

excellent work, curious as to how you created the jet stream.

Thank you very much.
As for the jet stream, I believe I did that in post with Photoshop for this one, in which case it was probably a simple line with a gaussian and motion blur applied. Something like that, then duplicate that and use Transform ('Warp') to apply a slight curve to it, and a layer mask with a gradient to make it fade out (if you apply a black/white gradient to a layer mask, one end will fade into transparency).

This is a nice piece the individually textured panels on the falcon give it a realistic look. The attention to detail is amazing. I would use a bit more color in the engine effects but it looks great even without that. Overall I would have to say this piece is really good and you should be proud of it.

Thank you.
I've played around with a lot of differen hues, but overall I'm not a fan of overly vibrant looking colors, because to me they can start looking unrealistic pretty quick. Maybe I will have another play eventually!

I often reduce the amount of color in many of my images for a more "realistic" look. I guess it really depends on what you're going for but like I said, It's a great piece either way.

That's intriguing. I wouldn't have known, because I think the latest own submission is shown regardless (in the respective category).

haha it must be the innate perception of an artist. it is said that the golden ratio is perceived as beautiful and as artist we do pursue this in whatever shape or form. got a little romantic there haha

Kick ass work man
A possible small detail addition: Put some wind gusts of snow coming over the cliff. Give it some life.
