When planetary bodies collide, this is what you potentially get.
Oh, the title is a take on "once upon a time", but I figured this is either not in the past or just past. So...

...or the guys on Alderaan.

Thank you. And also for sending me into nostalgia mode by reminding me of "ALF"!

Damn good painting, you captured what happened when we got our moon. When Thea collided with the PROTO EARTH, A glancing blow spewed strata and other debres into the cosmos, and the gravity of the young earth formed the moon. Right on!!

Thank you very much. Aside from science-fiction I've always been an avid astronomy fan, although I haven't used any references here or had anything in mind, I'm glad that apparently I got it right!
I've also thought about doing a piece based on the potential fifth planet (counting from the sun) that might have existed one day between Mars and Jupiter and now forms the asteroid belt. But let's see where my mood takes me.

Thank you and... not a problem, I do that a lot. I wish they would implement an edit function or deletion ability for own posts (even if it's times to only work for a few minutes)!
