macOS Catalina Protects the OS in its Own Read-only Volume, Custom icons are clearly broken.

Yes, i read about it... it seems that catalina stores the os as read only volume, so sadly no more icon customization...

Wow! I didn't know that! I'm not a developer so i didn't update to Catalina, but i guess it has to do with SIP (System Integrity Protection) or maybe it has to do with a new feature that installs the os separately on an only read volume?

A website hereΒ  mjtsai.com/blog/2019/06/06/sec… lists some of the findings with Catalina. And Steve Troughton-Smith says "Good news: macOS Catalina still respects your System Integrity Protection setting and lets you write to to the hard disk root if SIP is off"

But if LiteIcon is ever going to be updated for Catalina that remains to be seen. I personally think it will Β
