Description
I had time for another personal work until things pick up again. This one is based somewhat on street pictures I took in Korea a few weeks ago.I was going for a feel of a bit more "gritty" infrastructure detail which I often perhaps don't focus on enough when doing work. It's something I like especially when it's out in the open.

This is fantastic! I am an aspiring environment/prop artist for games and have been collecting other people's works for inspiration. This is quite stunning with the amount of detail you put into your work. Good job. I will be posting a my 3D work soon enoughI'd like your critique in the future if you are ever interested.Β

This is amazing but the only "critique" I can give is that it looks too clean.

This is beautiful. The colours and textures blend together, making the image seem almost as though it's a photo. You've captured something amazing <3

I think you created something that is impossible to capture with a camera because the streets in big east Asian cities are never empty.

Great capture of Korean street atmosphere!!
Are handles looking like "faces" on the transport boxes on purpose?

Interesting, so it's a coincidental case of "faces in places"

Amazing! Looks like it would have taken forever to do. Looks like it could be something out of a new Shenmue game, apart from the fact that it's in Korea. Did you even make that scooter yourself? It's all very impressive. I reckon you should get DD for this. I'm going to fave it anyway.

Thanks much,
It took around 3 days.
I did model the scooter myself for the scene, which turned out to be probably too much time invested for a detail as small as it is.
No matter though, I don't have to budget my time as much in a personal work.
I ought to play the Shenmue games some time, I always hear such good things about them.

I wasn't sure if I should have mentioned Shenmue, since you may not have heard of it.
3 days huh? I'd probably be going forever on a scene like this.
I shall go and check out your Opera scene next, which has appeared in my watch list thing.

This looks really awesome. How long does it take you to model a scene like this, if you don't mind me asking?

It is pretty crazy, the way so many buildings unintentionally get the Pompidou Centre effect.
The part on the left is modeled straight from reference of a real building I took a picture of over in Korea, really traditional Korean style small wooden building with these huge silver air ducts sticking right out the front and curving around.
When I saw it I knew I had to recreate something like that to use somewhere.
It is fairly common to see buildings with huge ducts or air conditioners right at the front like this.
Similarly the right part is a bit based on an alley I went through where the whole wall was just solid air conditioning and ventilation equipment.
I think this type of stuff is really cool looking.
