I've always really enjoyed drawing maps, I've tried a few times to draw a map for my nextgen but I was never really satisfied with it..can't say I'm 100% satisfied with this but it'll do for now!! I find maps really useful when I'm trying to plan out a story, especially since my stories tend to involve lots of different places/locations.

Most of these are canon MLP locations, the one addition is the Greathoof Mountains which are something I made up for a future story about Starlight's family history...

I put a lot of thought into making the map reflect a semi-realistic, working world... I might come back and write more about that later if the mood strikes. I wanted to put all the capital cities (the stars) near water....also I put a giant lake under Cloudsdale because you'd need a pretty big body of water to sustain a cloud city.

The changelings live in Florida. The name of their capital city roughly translates to "bug bay" and their language is pictographic (fancy word for "uses symbols to represent words").

The border lines aren't super clear so here's a better visualization of the territories of each country:

For fun here's the first map I did..it's fun but there is TOO MUCH going on here and it's all over the place. I like the text a lot more though...i love the old map look..I might make the new one look like this for fun at some point
