ok so story time. omega's been my fav sonic character for YEARS. when i was real big into sonic stuff when i was younger, i was too much of a COWARD to try to actually draw him. so i kinda juuuust.... took a shortcut and just made him a hedgehog. (originality was Not my strong suit okay) i never had a real reason for it plot wise other than just "because i say so"

UNTIL NOW--

basically the NEW idea is that omega gets completely destroyed and is then rebuilt using a shadow android (remember that yellow shadow android from shadow game's 2 player mode? yeah, that one.) this actually makes him being a hedgehog (of all things) make sense, but the trade off is that now he's basically just a Literal Shadow Recolor. oops. i tried to accentuate the differences as much as i could, but without a direct comparison it's kinda hard to tell the differences i guess?? don't worry, tho. i plan that i'll be drawing shadow android omega together with shadow A Lot. you know. for Comparison Purposes.

tbh when i first fell back into sanic hell i told myself i would not bring back my dumb hedgehog omega au because i like to think that i'm less of a coward when it comes to drawing now. but it played a big part in my past and what i was really into, so honestly it was kind of inevitable. also i'm still really into the idea. some things never change okay.
