Here is the story:

I swallowed thickly as the smoker smirked at me, tongue wagging under his chin, just about to attack. My weapon was about 3 yards behind me, and would soon become owner-less.

Suddenly, a screech rang out, startling the both of us. Above the trees, a hunter stood, glaring down at the smoker. "Get away from her~" he hissed, jumping down from the limb he was standing on.

That voice, harsh and raspy as it was, oh that voice. It reminded me of someone I once knew, and lost. It struck me hard n the heart as I looked at the hunter, who hand stepped in front of me.

The smoker gargled and spit, protesting that I was his meal, and only his. I was scared, for once in my life. I was part of this zombie killing group, and I was finally scared.

The hunter, taking no chances of leaving me, punched the smoker, making it's head fly off somewhere in the bushes. The smoker lay on the ground, lifeless once again.

I stared at the hunter, scared that he was going to do the same for me, but instead he looked at me, and in the shadows of his hood, I could see an expression of concern. He wasn't going to hurt me, but instead he was protecting me.

He leaned down and lifted my chin up slightly. "Lizzy... I can't believe you weren't infected..."

I looked at him, and just barley, I could see the tint of green, blood shot eyes. I couldn't speak. I was clueless, scared, and near death.

He looked me up and down and then sighed. "Lizzy... It's me... Jason..."

My eyes nearly shot out of my head. 'No way... /no way/ it could be Jason...' "You can't be..."

"But I am.. I don't know what happened.. But, in this infection or not... I am back.. And e finally have a chance to be together, finally."

I coughed and choked on what he was telling me. Oh, this couldn't be happening... Without knowing what I was doing, I launched myself on him, and kissed him. The taste of death and his poison touched my lips, but I knew it wasn't strong enough to hurt me. He was infected, but not to far off. I suddenly pulled back and said, "If you are still you.. Maybe.. Maybe there is hope..."

"I was infected, but no... It isn't reversible... But, I will never fully change..."

I sighed, feeling defeated. It wasn't far.. He was finally back in my life, and we couldn't be together...

Jason chuckled lightly, making me look to him. He sighed out "It's like the vows we made to each other, till death will we part, and even then we are never alone..."

"But, we never made those vows... We only wrote them..."

Jason sighed and now it was my turn to pick his head up. "But now, the vows are different... Till death, we will never part... For now we are together, infected."

I kissed him one more time before he placed me on his back, running us both off, into safety.
