Description A little semi-tutorial; just having fun over MSN decided to do a portrait for a pal to show him how I work. Took about 30 minutes, done with a soft round brush, this time photoref used. Enjoy!

By the way where did u go to school to get so good?!?!( i bet u learned on ur own)

oz-haver In reply to immortal-harkat [2005-08-24 16:45:07 +0000 UTC]

Actually I learned on my own, even though I am part of the Fine Arts Dept. @ the University. At school you learn to express yourself verbally and the other protocols needed to go out there and "work".

I usually work without photoreferences, but this time I used one, so it cuts up on the 'inventing' part- which really makes it easier.

30 mins for a small portrait is way slow, in drawing I am even quicker with sketches like this

Thank you!

It'd take me around at least an hour or two just to get to the first stage.

oz-haver In reply to anagoge [2005-08-13 22:32:58 +0000 UTC]

each stage shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

anagoge In reply to oz-haver [2005-08-14 00:13:05 +0000 UTC]

I most certainly couldn't do the first stage in five minutes.

oz-haver In reply to anagoge [2005-08-14 00:31:47 +0000 UTC]

well, take an easier picture, upfront, and try it out. 3/4's are not as easy. and let it flow, take your time.
