Trying a new technique in photoshop, I'm really pleased with the result. (No more Dodge and Burn from me).

what technique is this your using in Photoshop if its not dodge and burn

not the artist, but many people find it's easier to control the shading/highlighting they get by using lighter and darker variants of the original color. it gives it more depth and doesn't overwhelm brighter shades like reds and yellows which get distorted using the burn tool

i would recomend using layers to keep from making too many mistakes
