If this were a print I'd buy it. Good work! Great idea with both the colors and the themes. I especially like the nuclear side for some reason... I guess I'm a sucker for the skull and bones. Great work!

this concept is amazing.. the contrast with the white on the top showing the beauty that nature could be.. and the black on bottom showing what we are doing to destroy it.. very well done!

Stonking good art and i totaly love it but... cooling towers don't releace polution unless you count water vapor and warm air... admitable they are soo more photogenic/picturesque then the tall smoke stacks unless you get one with a low sun behind it... but, yeah sorry about that it just bugs me when people get them confused still lovely graphic style and LOOKS STUNNING!

Very nice work indeed. Alas I do not agree with you showing nuclear power on the "evil" side. You must keep in mind that nuclear power is one of the best alternatives to coal and oil we currently have. It is clean and efficient energy that will be a key player in saving the enviroment on our blue planet. Due to images like this and many others many people in my con try demonstrated again ts nuclear power in the 80's and therefor we do not apply this technology here. In fact we have pressed a neighbour country to shut down a perfectly clean and safe power plant. I am well aware of the fatal catastrophes we have seen with nuclear power, but please bear in mind that theses accidents have thought skillful engineers around the world how to safely harness the nuclear powers. We must take the nowadays very minimal risk rather than slowly strangle ourselves with coal and oil. So please do consider your political statements carefully.

In case you are wondering I live in Denmark and the neighbour country is Sweden.

Nuclear power is no "contrast" to enviroment, nuclear power works for the enviroment.

Jaygafragii In reply to johanvts [2006-03-07 21:42:20 +0000 UTC]

It could be a coal powerstation just because there is a cooling tower does not necessarly mean nucular + technicaly they don't emit any pollution bar water vapor. But...

...I agree with Your general centiment Nucular has had bad press but it is the only rationally achivable way we could sustain ourslves in the near future(+1000years). And you mentioned Sweden dispite the closure you mentioned they are also taking steps in the right direction with conducting resurch into and starting the construction of a fecility for safe storage of spent nucular material and there is overwelming local and national suport for the prodject and it looks like a similar thing is happening in Finland.

So all is not lost there are some people/nations that are waking up to the enevitable truth about oil and gas and realising the benefits of nucular power although there is still a long way to go...

Possible futher reading on the Swedish repositry: [link] though that might only work because i'm subscribed if not get yourself a copy of this ( [link] ) issue of the NewScientist magzine. Happy campaining

True..it could be a coal plant on the picture, but I really don't think you would see any need of a cooling tower in a coal plant. Glad you agree with me, I sure don't think the tide is changing in Denmark though, the only official political party supporting nuclear power is is the youth organisation of the conservatives...and they don't even run for parlement...and I would never be able to get myself to vote for them if they did

SeraphSanctuary In reply to johanvts [2006-03-07 21:04:44 +0000 UTC]

By no means to speak of the nuclear power "negatively"; however the image there gives a good chart for the industrial part (also particular power plants), which yes, brought a lot demage to this present-day.

as said "there are different power plants", solar ones preferably

johanvts In reply to SeraphSanctuary [2006-03-08 13:40:07 +0000 UTC]

I know, and I am all for alternative energy scources..but the take up a lot of space and are very expensive so far. Windmills and solarcells are great, but they do not deliver the same kick as nuclear power.

SeraphSanctuary In reply to johanvts [2006-03-08 14:29:06 +0000 UTC]

Above Denmark is a kick in the ozonic wrapper, the trees there look as if they were planted in sand, yellowis grass, the entire herbal atmosphere is under the great environment nuclear power is supplying. Now seriously.. go to a less urbanic country and simply see the difference in the air you are breathing.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

johanvts In reply to SeraphSanctuary [2006-03-08 16:12:14 +0000 UTC]

My entire point is that nuclear power would be great for the enviroment. Besides, it's not really bad here in Denmark, how would you know anyway? you from Denmark?

Nope i'm originating from Bosnia and Herzegovina. My half-sister lives there thus i visited it and was not as much impressed with it's 'bliss'. True that it has some places worth experiencing but comparable to southern places of Europe it really lacks in a lot.

He he..You're right..It's a rather boring looking flat country with an often nasty wheater! But it's home. And I bet you our pollution problem is alot small than in ex. Spain...and that was what we where talking about, right?
