I really love how you stayed to one core color for him, but made it not feel like it’s just red all over my face. The flow of the saturated red to desaturated colors of black and white is really nice; it can be tough for some people to do it as nicely as you have.

Also as a little cool fact: the red’s you have also reflects well with his personality (pink and light red both show joy, passiveness, and friendship). Blue would have also worked. : )
