More fun work with palette knife backgrounds! Seriously, best way to learn how to use a palette knife properly. The leaves are actually rubber stamps I carved out from a hobby block. This piece, regrettably, was mostly done drunk in small sessions over the course of about 4 years (it traveled in the "to-do" pile between many a-house). When I was overly inebriated and got the Art Itch, this guy kept me from screwing up something else haha.
Based on a bit of a dream from a long time ago. I sketched it out a few weird ways and carried the sketch for a while, ruminating on it I suppose, then put it to a larger piece. It's hard to capture (especially with "whiskey judgement" ) but in the dream the stag was improperly fixed in space/place and seemed to weave among the trunks at close and great distances. The leaf stamps help reinforce the weird macro/micro dissonance felt in the dream that's almost indescribable in reality.
Would be a fun thing for a more skilled digital artist to do much, much better.
