Nero woke up he was still dizzy and he still felt weak but he noticed the collar had been removed from his neck. Nero noticed he was in a bed and he had clothes on but they weren’t his and they were a little big for him. Nero remembered his flashback and started to cry ignoring the soft snoring beside him.

Dante woke he was a light sleeper and could hear the kid was crying by his heavy breathing he slowly rolled over to face the kid but he had his back turned to him. The kid had been waking him up most the night tossing, kicking him and then there was the sudden screaming and crying when the kid wasn’t even awake. The first time it started Vergil since he had stayed the night over had even come running in to see what was wrong. Dante scooted a little closer and wrapped an arm around Nero who was still crying he shushed him a little bit while trying to calm him down. “Go back to sleep kid…it’s okay…” Dante said in a soothing tone. “W-Why did she leave me…Dante?” Nero suddenly spoke. Dante lifted his head and looked at Nero confused. “What? Who?” Dante asked. “My mother…why did she leave me…?” Dante felt terrible he didn’t exactly know how to tell the kid why without hurting his feelings so he tried to put it in a way it wouldn’t hurt him as bad Dante cleared his throat before speaking. “Well…I…most humans are afraid of demons…and hate to say this kid but…your arm really makes you stand out…” Dante said hoping Nero would understand so he wouldn’t have to go further into detail. Nero choked out a sob and Dante shushed him as he rubbed his side. Nero looked at his arm which was still grey from his loss of power. Nero started to have another flashback.

Flashback…

Nero watched his mother leave, watched her ignore his pleas and cries. After she was gone Nero cried for hours. Then a group of men came out of the woods with swords and leather armor, with them was a young girl around his age and a boy who looked a bit older than her. The other men didn’t seem to notice Nero but the little saw a blue glow and a little boy crying shedding hysterical tears. “Credo look over there…” She whispered then started over to Nero. “Kyrie! Get back here!” Credo shouted. Nero looked up at the girl with teary eyes. The little girl looked at Nero’s arm and gasped in shock. Credo hurried over to her and his mouth to fell open and Nero started to cry harder. Credo grabbed hold of Kyrie’s wrist and Nero looked at her again as she kneeled. “Hey…what’s wrong?” Kyrie asked him softly. “M-My mommy left me…” Nero cried. Kyrie looked at Credo. One of the men saw Nero talking to Credo and Kyrie and walked up and grabbed him by the scruff of his leather jacket. “Credo…we have to stop them!” Kyrie exclaimed. Credo hesitated but ran over to the knights. “Stop! Maybe we should go take him back to Sanctus…” Credo suggested the knight nodded and they all started walking again the one knight still carrying Nero.

End Flashback…

Nero sighed he didn’t know why he was suddenly having so many flashbacks lately. He had calmed down a little but he still felt unbelievably sad. Dante removed his arm from around Nero’s body. “That it kid…go back to sleep…” Dante whispered. Nero’s breathing finely got a rhythm to it and he fell back to sleep. Dante yawned and rolled over to face the other side.
