Description
The two stallions made their way through the dunes. It was still early, the air carrying a chilly tinge. They acted like they always had. Jokes were laughed at, playful insults were exchanged and countered. Nothing about this morning could give away that this would be their last shift together. After having worked side by side for the past two years it would be weird to wake up the next moring and not leave for the Sabbia Dunes together. They didn't touch the subject untill they'd reached the top of the tallest dune, two sillhouettes against the slowly lightening sky.

"So the last day huh?" Aravali was the one to break the silence that had fallen. It was weird how much it seemed to affect him even though he'd still be seeing his brother every day. But they'd come to this herd together in search for something better. All their lives they had been together. They might not be identical twins but sometimes they felt like they knew absolutely everything about the other. They'd grown so much upon getting welcomed into the Azzimato herd and becoming Guardians. From the first day of training up untill this very last day of guarding their own Region, they'd done everything together. And now Aravali was the one who'd offered to train Woo Boost and degrade to the Shallow Lagoons. Somehow he felt kind of guilty. He hadn't even discussed it with his brother, he'd spontaneously decided it. Not that he regretted his decision. As a matter of fact he was quite excited to teach the young stallion and to work with him. But it still felt like he was closing a chapter of his life and starting a new one. One in which he'd spend less time with his brother than ever before.

"I guess", Sanchay replied, his voice surprisingly serious for a change. Neither of the stallions knew quite what to say. They both knew what they were feeling yet saying it out loud seemed too sappy. Aravali glanced back at his brother, his eyes seemed focused on the distance. "You sure you can handle this place on your own?" he questioned, the hint of a smile in his voice. Sanchay looked at him and arched a cocky eyebrow. "Are you sure you can handle not seeing my handsome face during work time?" he countered with a smirk. "Oh how ever will I make it through the days?" Aravali replied dramatically before kicking Sanchay in the shins playfully. Sanchay grinned at him and returned his eyes to the land before them. "I'll be fine. Take care of that little guy, brother", he said, his voice serious again. "I will", The dark faced stallion replied and with that the brothers returned to their usual routine.

A little story that went down just after Aravali and Woo Boost got assigned to the Shallow Lagoons together meaning that Aravali had to leave the Sabbia dunes to Sanchay. It was really nice drawing these brothers together again! It's been three years since that last happened But yeah they both needed a new reference sheet and I started on Aravali and then decided to add Sanchay as well. And then came the idea of writing out this little flashback. I mean you get to reas all about Woo Boost and Aravali but Sanchay gets kind of left out in the story which is rather sad considering he's Aravali's twin brother :'3 So have some brotherly bonding everyone ;D

Also the title is from the song 'Brother' by Lord Huron for the ones who are interested
