I think yo can always make linux to look good, even Unity. And I like many of the ideas behind Unity, but the true problem is the lack of stability at this point. I hope this gets a lot better for the next releases.

Otra duda, como le haces para que la ventana de seleccion de aplicaciones sea mas pequeña y no cubra toda la pantalla?

¿Ambos conky's (calendario y clima)?
Para cambiar la configuración del dash de unity necesitas instalar dconf-tools desde los repositorios e abrir ccon Alt+F2 el dconf-editor. En desktop > unity hay que cambiar el valor de home-expanded y listo.

Si no quieres utilizar Gnome 2.32, todavía puedes seleccionando la sesión Ubuntu Classic en la pantalla de incio de sesión.
Decidí hacer un conky para el clima con algunas opciones adicionales a las que ya tenía. Lo puedes descargar aquí .
