Nope, but there's a bunch of it around my village so... that's why. And it's more original than tobaco (hate this plant), wheat or colza. (Also popular around here.)

Wow.....no wonder....here we have rice and corn....and more rice....
This country really likes rice....

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Colt-Lasky In reply to Pace-Maker [2017-04-05 10:46:23 +0000 UTC]

I never saw a rice field (except pictures) in my whole life... but why are the fields always flooded?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Pace-Maker In reply to Colt-Lasky [2017-04-05 11:40:55 +0000 UTC]

There are canals that transfer water from the mountains to the fields....rice needs lots of water to grow and the ground needs to be soft for the weak roots to grasp on....plus the nutrients are more easier to spread ....then the damn closes when the rice starts to give ....well rice...I live really close to a field of rice....so much that it stretches over the horizon

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Colt-Lasky In reply to Pace-Maker [2017-04-07 05:36:15 +0000 UTC]

I understand better why the fields are mostly on hillside, the water can flow easily.

Over the horizon?? Wow... that's quite much... in my country, everything is so small that you can almoste see the border with the France from where I live... which is in a central part of the country.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Pace-Maker In reply to Colt-Lasky [2017-04-07 08:23:50 +0000 UTC]

actually those are the rice terraces of one my countries tourist sites which are very old but still in use..but
where i am...its on flat ground

border?...ohhh.....your close to france...ive never been there

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Colt-Lasky In reply to Pace-Maker [2017-04-09 08:30:34 +0000 UTC]

Ok, another technic. Is it harvested with machines if it's on a flat ground?

I went to France a few times... In fact, every regions is cool except for the capital. The people in Paris are... assholes. It's almost a clichΓ©, but it's real. But the in the north and the south, the people are real creams.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Pace-Maker In reply to Colt-Lasky [2017-04-10 01:01:28 +0000 UTC]

its handpicked then a machine separates the rice from the stalkΒ

are they really assholes? wow....and how cream are the people ?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Colt-Lasky In reply to Pace-Maker [2017-04-10 21:27:27 +0000 UTC]

Handpicked??? But even the fields that I see in pictures are big... how could they do with a past-horizon-field??

Yep, really... (too) proud to come from Paris, rude, autain and so on... But in the others regions, friendly, hospitable, helping... etc. Look, for example, I was once (again) lost in Bretagne (beautiful region), I had to do hitchhike to go back to the good town... I was expecting to wait a long time, but not even 5 minutes after, the first car I saw take me (for free... in Switzerland, we almost always pay for a ride like this), drove me further than I was expecting and gave me some advices to went back wher I housed.

Pace-Maker In reply to Colt-Lasky [2017-04-11 05:05:07 +0000 UTC]

there are teams of farmers per square field...and one carabao....

well...we can find some dicks a long the way...but some real nice people in the fray...
but dont count out some of the people that you see...maybe not all are total acreams

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Colt-Lasky In reply to Pace-Maker [2017-04-12 20:32:01 +0000 UTC]

Carabao? What is that?

Yes of course, but I mostly travel alone, and when I meet people, it's not for a long time. So If they're nice, it's enough for me... most of the time.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Pace-Maker In reply to Colt-Lasky [2017-04-13 12:10:22 +0000 UTC]

A carabao is a water buffalo....it's our own version of a cow....but without the milk

You travel alone? You got some balls

Colt-Lasky In reply to Pace-Maker [2017-04-14 13:53:10 +0000 UTC]

Oh ok, so Bogo works in rice fields too, good to know. But what are they used for?

I don't have enough money to travel to far countries, so I stay in Europe, which is not the most dangerous zone of this planet.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Pace-Maker In reply to Colt-Lasky [2017-04-15 05:38:08 +0000 UTC]

mostly they are used for getting rid of old rice stalks and giving manure...
which is good...also they act as a guard dog as well

but there is no place like home...

really? how is tmore dangerous?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Colt-Lasky In reply to Pace-Maker [2017-04-16 22:16:12 +0000 UTC]

Guard dog... even a real guard dog wouldn't approach this pieces of horn and anger....

Yup, indeed. I like my country too much to live somewhere else than there.

Europe is really stable, there's almost no border (not for a long time though) and you can travel freely trough the countries of the union. But when you go to Africa or eastern countries, it's a little bit more less stable. Especially in Africa now, there's loads of refugees who try to reach Europe. It's really complicated to manage...

Pace-Maker In reply to Colt-Lasky [2017-04-17 05:17:37 +0000 UTC]

these beasts are very kind animals when it comes to those who arent tresspassing...but ive seen what it can do to some idiots who
mess with the rice fields

your place sounds fun...mine sounds broken...and fun

its complicated if you make it complicated...but i understand some people want to get in other countries to
get away from theirs

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Colt-Lasky In reply to Pace-Maker [2017-04-17 15:21:38 +0000 UTC]

It shouldn't have been nice too see... this animal are quite huge after all...

The biggest advantage of my country: small... you can cross it in less than 6 hours. But that's why I like to travel, as it's small, you see everything fast.

The fact is that we have loads of problem with terrorists. So the European countries don't want to host too much refugees because of the fear to have some terrorists in the number.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Pace-Maker In reply to Colt-Lasky [2017-04-18 00:52:22 +0000 UTC]

They are the size of cows....

Really? That small? I feel like my countries smaller than yours bro...
Wait...how do you travel?

Ohhhh.....I see......it is hard to distinguish a non terrorist from a real terrorist

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Colt-Lasky In reply to Pace-Maker [2017-04-19 22:05:43 +0000 UTC]

I think that they are juste a little bit heavier than our cows, but almost the same, yes.

In fact... Philippines are around 7 times bigger than Switzerland. You can cross Switzerland by car in 6 hours, and by plane... well, it's too small to do it.

Exactly, and as Europe subites regulary terrorist attacks, the governments want to close theirs borders BUT it's against the Europeans accords, so they try to limit the refugees number but it causes an ethical problem... and so on.

They are like that...before they are used to pull plows and stage coaches...

Really? I feel like my country is smaller... wow....good to know

Are you affected by this? Cuz it looks like a big issue...here...anyone can just walk in and the government doesn't care....

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Colt-Lasky In reply to Pace-Maker [2017-04-22 06:19:44 +0000 UTC]

Maybe you confuse Switzerland an Sweden? (Sweden is indeed bigger)

In fact, the Europeans countries have a broom in the ass when it comes to politic... because of ancestral (and stupid) traditions, culture and so on. But since the year 2000 the European Union has opened all the borders of these countries. It was a good thing, since nobody else than the said countries were enjoying this new law. But of course, load of people from poor countries came to Europe, and because of this new law, it was way easier than before. (Normal, I would have done the same) You may know that Europe is called the "old continent", but here, it was not the wiseness who came with the old age... but racism and chauvinism. With that, Europe is stuck since something like 5 years with the immigration "problem" due to the Syrian war. And absolutly nothing have moved since the begining... nothing was decided... the countries keep yelling that's unacceptable but don't move their ass... and so on.

By the way, Switzerland is not in the European Union, that's why I see the situation with a critical eye.

Pace-Maker In reply to Colt-Lasky [2017-04-22 09:11:23 +0000 UTC]

Shit....that's a big ass problem....well I can see how it all went bad, but the whole thing felt like a huge slap to the face to Europe ...racism and chauvinism...that's not new..we got that here...but five years? Of doing nothing....shit...that's almost as bad as the guy who got stuck here for 15 years until he was finaly released....fuck...
Politics and governments are messy...but governing a country is not easy...
So I always stay out of anything concerning with huge crowds....(p.s riots are no joke)
