Part of the world of showing off the civilian life side of things more_____________________________________________________________________
I was a great surprise to everyone when a team from the UWS entered the Enshawdian Motorsports Championship, especially for the citizens of the UWS reading about it on the newspaper.
The United Worker's Society had always had shaky relationships with the Republic of Enshaw due to ideological differences, because of that, many expected the Fischer family to be stuck back home, however, the government did not only allow them to participare but sponsored them, presumably to prevent them from taking foreign sponsorships.
Günther Fischer was a racing pilot of moderate success back in the former UHR and he passed on his love of motorsports to his children. When the UHR collapsed he became a mechanic. Everything changed when the family discovered an abbandonned prototype in an old barn. The prototype was discounted as "a rust bucket" at first by the guy selling it, but Mr Fischer saw it's potential. Thus "Mannshaft Rostlaube" (team rust bucket) was born.
The racecar belonged to Günther rival. It was advanced back then, but many years had passed since. It was outdated, yes, but not obsolete.
With a layer of chrome and some adjustments and optimizations to the engine the Fischer family got it working again.
When they showed up to the EMC, they instantly became an underdog, but also a controversial team
In the first two races they had a difficult time finding their footing- the suspension manifested a quirk, and their driving was commentated as "not aggressive enough"
This would not stay that way for the rest of the championship, however. Thanks to a risky pit strategy that paid off, Hannah Fischer managed to achieve 1st place on the 3rd race, and the team ended 5th overall in the championship.
Hannah became a local heroine back home, and the team's future looks as bright as their shiny chromed car.
After the championship, there would be regulations against reflectively-colored cars, however. Turns out the glare was rather distracting to the other drivers.
