In D&D there are no Hobbits. Halflings are Halflings by no other name. But would and entire race call themselves Halflings? I sounds like a nick name given to them by humans. I wonder what Halflings call themselves?

3.0 halflings are nomadic, so I figure that "halfling" is a somewhat insulting outsider name, a little like "Tinker" or "Gypsy." And like those two groups, what they call themselves is probably something more like "Traveller."

Thank you. You’re the first person ever to give me a straight anser on this. So perhaps they had a distinct culture of their own at one time but were dominated by another culture i.e. Humans. Much like the native Americans. Indians never called themselves Indians.
