ive always wanted to ask someone this, how do you get transparent backgrounds?

It's all a matter of layers. When you add another layer (depending on what software you're using..)it typically asks what you want the layer to be-background color, foreground color, transparency...etc. Just add a transparent layer and delete the white background layer. Then everything drawn on the transparent layer will show up while the background is transparent.
