Gorgeous photo. I think an ND grad of some sort would have worked a treat here. But it's still lovely. Love how soft the water is, yet not lost lots of detail.

The pastel colours are gorgeous too, especially reflected on the rocks in the foreground. A beauty.

thanks nyssa I was scared to change filters on these rocks for fear of dropping them in/falling in/getting soaked by wave while concentrating on the filter/getting sand in unfortunate places/being eaten by a sea monster

I loved being able to take these photos whenever I wanted. one day i will retire to the seaside with a filter assistant

you have to use some filters, so you can take a photo that lasts four seconds. then you make sure that that four seconds coincides with a wave coming and going out... et voila!
