Description just messin' around with photoscape.
am i not allowed to? can i not do what i want with my "art"? is it so bad to change the colors?

really, i wonder.

i'm still gonna call it a photograph. i don't see why i can't, but some people attack the idea of changing a photo at all and insist on keeping it as it is straight from the camera. which seems so harsh and boring to me, though i still feel kinda guilty about my indulgent color manipulation...like am i not good enough to be able to do that? does my camera's color just suck? do i suck? i don't know..UGH. lame rant is lame, thinking does me no good. but why do i continue to feel like i'm doing it wrong?

Personally I prefer the other version.
About editing the photos, please, feel very free to do whatever you want with your pictures! the camera it's just an instrument for the photographer, you should edit them until you get what you want. That theory of "not retouching the photo" is for me only valid for photojournalism (and not always), legal photography and such, when you expect plain reality. In artistical photography and art in general there must be no boundaries in my opinion, it's up to the artist to decide. And don't worry, every great photographer do it and did it before photoshop, what do you think a dark room is? Nothing more than an analog photoshop.

Manipulating the colours to convey whatever emotion or meaning, or simply to make it look prettier or have a different mood, is perfectly fine. It doesn't make it any less of a photograph. Even if it were considered a photo-manipulation, what's the problem with that?

true that ...though others would beg to differ, but to heck with them!

Do what you like and don't care about other. It is only a black and white photo slightly tinted, no big manipulation. I am sure there are cams who handle this internal without postprocessing. Some of my bw photos are soft blue - I like that and I would never feel guilty about how I see or feel my world.

Bad english, sorry (:

thanks for your comment. it's true, this is one of my less edited photos, but it just got me thinking about others where i selectively change colors for aesthetic reasons. it's also true that i need to stop worrying so much about it and just do what i like. this is supposed to be fun, right? xD i guess i was just kinda irritated after reading comments by some photographers a while back, i think it was on flikr, which claimed that edited photos are inferior to unedited ones.

and your english is fine!
