That is quite ironic. There was recently a ladybug outbreak in Colorado caused by some scientists who apparently haven't heard that you're not supposed to introduce a new species into an ecosystem. Luckily, ladybugs don't kill people.

we are becoming more and more aware of our effect on this planet at this point; we don't really have a choice. i only wish our society as a whole (as well as our leaders) could not only recognize its mistakes but also learn from them. we as individual citizens forget that we have the power... but it's still frustrating.

It is sad that most individuals feel that they alone cannot do anything that could or would have an effect on the planet. It doesn't help when most leaders and figures of authority only wish to remain in control by maintaining the status quo - despite promises stating otherwise.
