Is this the tree in The Cell?

I don't know if it's the exact same tree but it's indeed the same location (there are several trees there)

But they all look like they are the only one.

This is very beautiful as everyone has said. What I am more curious about, is how far you had to walk and how long you were traveling for to find this lone tree in the desert. Amazing

Thanks a lot!
Not too far: ca. 60min drive from the camp and then a 20 minute walk in the sand

That's awesome! I've seen pics of that area before; aren't the trees really really old? Like about 1000 years or something.

Thank you!

Indeed: "The remaining skeletons of the trees, which are believed to be about 900 years old, are now black because the intense sun has scorched them. Though not petrified, the wood does not decompose because it is so dry."

I would love to see them in person. The closest thing I've ever seen to something that cool was relic marsh mud on the beachface of Sapelo Island that had been, at one time, on the back of the beach over 1000 years ago. Since the island is retreating towards land, the mud is now in the front of the island. And the really neat thing were the oyster and mussel shells that were fossilized in it and were the same age as the mud, and they looked like they could've been alive today. I'm such a dork for those types of things.
