Most of the people on my dA watch list are female (and no most of them are not nude models, only 2 or 3 out of the 500 people are).

Excellent stamp. I can't stand how certain religions *cough* completely degrade women.-ed

What religions? It's a personal choice, I don't know of any religion that completely degrades women.

Good idea to make this. To this day women are still undermined, get less pay in jobs and are considered 'nagging talkative creatures of emotions.' And that really ticks me off, b/c we're individuals as much as anyone else.

If I ever get subscribed to DA for the cool stuff, I might put this up.

Of course it's alright! I really appreciate it; you're literally like the second or third male to comment/fav this stamp.

They most certainly are an important "part" of the community as they damn near make up the entire community

What makes you say that?

ChibiKeba In reply to PaintedHouse [2007-07-05 17:19:33 +0000 UTC]
Because every time I happen upon someoneβs main page here 75% of the time theyβre listed as female. Itβs weird to me that so many women are artistic but few rarely pursue it professionally, the menz are the ones who actually make something of it.
I think I know a possible reason for why that is. I used to be married and both me and my husband had to work full time. When Iβd get home from work I would try to work on my comic series but he would just sit around and play video games. If I wanted to eat or live in a clean house I had to do pretty much all of the work. It was really hard and it drained me and stressed me out really bad that I couldnβt get him to help me more (or that I basically had to scream at him to get some help). As such I didnβt get to spend as much time drawing as I wouldβve likedβ¦
Men are lucky enough to have women as their opposite because women have that natural caretaker attitude and will think to cook for you if youβre stuck working on something for hours and you donβt have the time to cook for yourself. Tis one of the reasons Iβve thought on turning gay
WHOA. Sorry for the long ramble

PaintedHouse In reply to ChibiKeba [2007-07-05 19:38:24 +0000 UTC]
haha no worries! You are so right; we're almost "programmed" to be the more responsible sex, and like you said, as a result often put others needs before our own wants/desires. So, in a case like yours, you put household duties infront of your drawing because you were the more responsible one, taking away your time to pursue art. This seems to be a sad trend most women know first hand (including yours truly).
I do believe this site was created by men, but the more I think of it, the more I see alot of the most popular (and talented) artists are females. We're just so much more in touch with our artsy side

ChibiKeba In reply to PaintedHouse [2007-07-05 22:45:34 +0000 UTC]
Yeah so true, and it's hard when you decide to become more self oriented because other women look at you as if you're a horrible selfish thing that's not behaving the way it should (be more subservient to others! lawl, no thanks).
I'm single now and enjoy having the free time to actually work on art. Hopefully one day I'll actually get to do it as a career but I need a lot of time to practice first

Ah great! It's true that you don't see alot of female recognition and that we are in fact kind of "left in the dust" by the male populace *so to speak*. I'll definitely be using this stamp!
