for your icon, go to your home page and you will see on the left (under profile, gallery,faves, journal) something that says submit deviation, submit print, etc. mouse over to that and it will expand. then click on edit profile and there will be a box for avatar, click on the browse button and it will take you to the pictures on your computer. you can also change your page display settings by clicking on the user display settings button under the deviantART logo.^^ hope this helped
