Description
Sorry if it's a bit long to load...I'm super happy to show you an animation for the second time! I found the inspiration for it when I saw hummingbirds for the first time ever at the zoo last month; their flight is so impressive! It is much much faster in real life but here it's just like a slow motion
Animations are fantastic to do, the hardest thing is simply to be motivated to spend a bunch of time on it!
Advice are really welcome about animations, please feel free to give me your opinion! ♥

This is really nice! I will say if you were to animate something quick like a hummingbird real time that would require the use of smear frames - which is like motion blur for 2D drawings except better and more control. BUT hummingbirds are 1 of the coolest things to watch slow motion! Their wings move in a figure 8 pattern which allows them to be the only birds which can hover in place

Oh thank you! I had never heard about smear frames, thanks so much for the advise! I'll try to learn more about this technique Aww yeah if I had animated it with real time we couldn't see its wings at all haha! I find their flight so impressive, they're definitely unique birds! Thanks for taking time and writing this comment

omg this is so cool! It looks amazing! You captured them so well! haha! I can imagine sticking to the project would take a bit of self control! XD I would never be able to do that!
We have humming birds around our house all the time in the summer, they love my sister's flowers in the front

Yep! My mom just saw one earlier today haha nope, we don't see them during the winter, they like it warmer, so we only see them during the summer

Amazing! The movement looks pretty smooth, at least to my untrained eye. I love hummingbirds; I hope to see a real one someday!

Thank you, I'm so glad you think so ^^ They are really so cute, and so small too I hope you'll be able to see one if you go to the zoo someday maybe!

I know - so tiny! I saw a picture of one sitting on someone's finger and I couldn't believe how small they are. Hm, I don't think any zoos near me have them. The closest one I can find online is in Boston, which is too far a trip. But maybe someday!

Oh really?? I'd love to see this pic if you find it back Aw yeah, the zoo which had them was pretty far from home but I took advantage of my holidays to see them ^^

It was in a magazine; I can't seem to find it online, but if I ever do stumble across it or something similar, I'll send you a link.

Paintwick In reply to blue-shamrock [2016-05-30 17:53:37 +0000 UTC]
Haha ok!
