You won't believe how many times I've heard that one. We don't worship her, we appreciate and love her personalities and appearance as a character. The brony community pretty much created this character, she was our "baby". DHX Media noticed this and they brought her to life. They started to purposely google the eyes, it could be seen starting at about the second half of season one. In the Last Roundup in season two, her name was mentioned as "Derpy" and she spoke. It was so great, I still can not explain the amount of joy I felt at that very moment. Alas, the soccer moms rose up, deemed her "offensive" and wanted her removed. They felt she was representing mentally handicapped people. The person who originally added the scene looked up the word "derpy" and saw it could possibly be offensive. However, the way the soccer moms acted towards it was vicious. They wanted everything changed; her name, eyes, and voice. I'm still devastated by how obscene that is. Let's say Derpy really did represent the mentally disabled. By removing her, isn't that saying mentally disabled people should either not exist in our world or should change? Soccer moms say they do these things so they may "protect" their children. But by doing these acts, their children are unprepared for the world when they are ready to go out on their own. Now, I can understand if someone might possibly take offense to the name "Derpy". The word has been thrown around so much on the internet that its true definition is unclear, so I can understand the DHX's decision to change it. Never the less, I was still heartbroken by the whole fiasco. You're free to think your own thoughts. But please, if it involves bashing or insulting those who think differently, keep it to yourself. But I can see by your other comments on this, you are choosing not to. And judging by your comment feed and favorites, you're just another troll who isn't getting enough love from their parents. Please give them a hug every so often and tell them how much you love them, they should return it. Have a nice day.

Derpy made us smile, and appearing made Derpy smile, so where is the harm in that? The people who are wrong are the ones that think that Derpy protected and kept out of the public's eye. The cool thing about Derpy being on the show was that Derpy was in your face and had to deal with her. Whether you laughed or cried or felt nothing. That's why Derpy rules!

One of the things that makes Derpy unique are her eyes, plus it goes with her name too. Taking away Derpy's eyes is like making Rainbow Dash's mane and cutie mark grey.
