My head canon: Written Script dated Derpy and got her pregnant with Dinky. Written Script divorced with Derpy and married Carrot Top who had adopted 2 daughters, Sparkler and Tootsie Flute. Dinky went back and forth from her divorced parents' places every single week. Derpy later got remarried to the Doctor.

If i remember right dinky's dad was never in the picture.... most unicorns from higher up are high strung and neurotic.. apparently he was an ass who used sweet words on derpy got her pregnant and ditched her.
yeah i really dislike him.. if anyone is interested in a good but reaallly long fanfic about it let me know n.n lol im only 68 chapters in of 700+ at 3k words a chapter but its a good read so far and honestly this is the best ive read so far n.n  Derpy is an awesome momma and no one can take that from her.

Geez, what a douche bag Dinky father turned out to be. Not only that, but also a coward...leaving like that and telling them trough a letter, cause he didnt had the guts or nerves to tell that himself.

Derpy may be diferent from the other ponies...may look dumb and even slow, had weird cross eyes...

BUT SHES A GREAT MOTHER AND A GREAT MARE.

Cause despise her looks...she takes care of her daughter, no matter what. And she's there for her all the times. And i bet that Dinky thinks the same way. Right?
