Roshi joined Mr. Satan at the balcony.
"So, what's bothering you ?" he asked.

"Well... I don't know. I know it sounds strange, but I can't really feel happy about Buu being killed. I know, he did awful things, destroyed and killed loads of people, but... well, he was just a kid at heart. He wasn't a bad person, he was just surrounded by evil people who sent him in the wrong direction." He looked up. "I just can't really celebrate it, you know ? If things had gone another way, somehow, maybe he would be here with us instead ?"

Roshi nodded. "Yes. Stragely, [Goku] was sent to this planet as a child to destroy it."

"Goku was unruly, constantly trying to fight. Then, one day, he had the misfortune, or good luck, of falling off a cliff and banging his head. After that hewas much more docile."
He paused.
"It's funny, isn't ? To imagine that the difference between the Earth's destroyer and its greatest defender was one slip off a cliffside."

"We can feel sorry for it, and acknowledge that it happened the way it did, but we can only deal with the consequences as we find them. That's the sad truth. Maybe somewhere out here, there's a reality where it worked out and Buu was good, just as there's one out there where Goku didn't slip and became evil, and a brave man for trying to avert it."

Mr. Satan ducked his head slightly, not wanting to show how the words has affected him.
