Update 2: Very big and exciting news soon to come...!Update: I know it's been two years now, but I am in fact still working on this and planning to update it. I didn't have much time to work for a while. Right now I'm in the middle of rewriting the code from as2 to as3. There'll be a lot of behind the scene changes that'll just make things run so much smoother. On top of that I've redone the layout, which looks much nicer now, it's easier to read and use, and makes it much easier to understand how things work. The last thing I have planned before I officially release the next version is a redo for the art on the markings. Lineart will stay the same, but things such as tabby markings, tortie patches, and white markings will be fixed up, and will hopefully look much better.
I'd like to get some opinions on whether I should upload the full version over this deviation, or whether I should upload a second one so this version can still be used. Thoughts? Feel free to still comment and give your opinion on this, but it's looking like I'll probably end up putting this version on sta.sh, and uploading the new version over this. That way all favorites and links for this will still be intact, and people will still have the choice over which version to use. If you have any other opinions though, I'd love to hear them!

Realistic Cat Creator (RCC) is a fully customizable, genetically sound, cat generator. Currently in beta form, it includes 4 base colors; Black, chocolate, cinnamon, and red. Currently available markings are tabby, tortoiseshell, and white.
Options blocked out with the gray N/A block may be shown by switching one of the various on/off switches.

To save the cats you make, screenshot (no I'm not going to go into how to screenshot here, but if you think I should, feel free to comment and request it!) the page, and crop everything outside of the dark border around the cat if desired.
If you wish to upload the cat you created, you're more than welcome to, but make sure to read and follow dA's rules on this , and always give proper credit, either with a link back to this program, or a link to my userpage.
You are not under any circumstances allowed to sell the cats you create in this program for any kind of currency, nor use these for any kind of adoptables, free or otherwise. You are however more than welcome to use the design you've made and use it with a premade lineart, or in a drawing of your own, and you may sell, give away, and use that design however you please.

The gene that causes the blue eyes in Ojos Azules is basically wiped out now, so that's the reason I didn't include it in here. From what I've read, the breed is pretty much extinct now, so the unique blue eyes aren't something you really see anymore. That being said, I still might end up including it in later updates, I'm not sure.
Yup! Smoke/shaded/shell and all the colorpoint line will both be included in the full version! They're two of my favorite kinds of markings, so personally I'm really looking forward to having them in here.

Will there be an option for broken mackerel, classic spotted, mackerel spotted, ticked tabby without leg barring, and ticked tabby with leg barring.
Will there be an option for pseudocinnamon, blue ginger, and bluish extremities ginger variants with cats with the orange gene.
Will there be options for different types of white foot markings (toe spots, toes, mitts, socks, stockings colored toe and heel spots), face markings (muzzle, blaze, star, snip, hourglass, chin, and colored moustache, goatee, and smudge), and torso markings (bib, locket, buttons, bikini, entire chest and belly, belly stripe, and reverse locket).

As of right now, I honestly don't have any sort of estimate as to when the full version is coming out, but coding-wise it's not too far off, so fingers crossed it'll be soon!
There will be an option for spotted tabbies (broken mackerel) and originally I had wanted spotting to be a slider rather than a button, so it would modify whatever pattern was underneath (whether it be mackerel or classic), but I ran into some problems with that, so I was forced to make it its own set pattern, rather than having it be sort of a level of "breakage." Hopefully I'll be able to work it out in the future so that it can be a spotted slider like I originally intended. As for the leg barring on ticked tabby, right now I'm only planning to have it with the residual striping, but that may change before I release the update. If it doesn't end up in the next update, it will absolutely be in a later expansion (that will probably expand greatly on the tabby options)
I don't currently have any plans to add blue ginger or blue extremities on red based cats. The mutation doesn't currently have enough records for me to be able to get enough info on ranges and how it affects different genes. And while I won't have a "pseudocinnamon" button exactly, the range on the red coloring will include some distinctly brown colors, which actually resemble cinnamon more than ginger. The range on the red based colors are gonna be expanded on a lot in the full version.
For the different white markings, I do plan to have that, but not in the next update unfortunately. I'm planning to introduce a whole new way of using the white markings, which will hopefully involve being able to initially set the amount of white with the slider, but then being able to click a spot on the cat that will have a predefined marking you could add/remove, such as a white chin for instance. It will probably include all the markings you listed. It'll allow for a lot more customization when it comes to white patterns, since there's so much variance on how the patterns appear on cats.
Side note: I absolutely love comments like this, that go into detail asking about some of the more interesting patterns and options, rather than just asking me "are there gonna be blue eyes in the full version???"

I love this version, but I can't wait for the newest version. Though, I do have a feeling having two versions of the same cat creator would be a little silly, in my opinion, since people are mainly going to use the newest version once it comes out.
So, perhaps this one can go into sta.sh, and the other one could be a new deviant, or maybe there could be an option to switch between the two. Otherwise, I'd just edit this one and put the new one here. Some people may want to use the old one. -shrugs-
Also, I know you probably get this asked a lot, but can ya' spitball a potential release date? I'm not asking for specifics like day, just a general idea of release date. <3

I think putting this version in sta.sh and putting the new version here sounds like a good idea. A few people have suggested the same, and so far it's sounding like it'll probably end up being the best option.
As for an estimate for a release date, I honestly would love to give one, but I don't have the slightest clue myself. The amount of time I have to work on it, as well as my motivation to do the coding, varies so much that there's really no way for me to give an estimate. For all I know at this point, it could be done within a couple weeks, or it could be quite a few months before I get around to finishing it. But progress is looking pretty good, so if things happen to go especially well and I have plenty of time and motivation, then it could be coming really soon! I'll let you know if I get a more solid idea of when it'll be finished.

What about the amber tortoiseshell, as mentioned in this chart (along the bottom, about norwegian forest cats)
I admit, I can't find a picture of one (if you can, can you show me?) but I'm making a book about Wegies and I'm using your creator for the characters, so I'm curious about it.

Actually I went to look into amber cats and apparently there's a huge difference between those that carry the tabby gene and those that don't, even though they both have tabby stripes. That's apparently the reason some of the images I linked are more black/brown than others, not the age. Apparently the ones that don't carry the tabby gene end up looking more like silver or light brown tabbies than ginger ones.

Oh! I'm sorry, I missed the word tortoiseshell and thought you were just talking about amber cats. Yeah, I've never actually seen a picture of an amber tortoiseshell, and I'm pretty sure they're more theoretical than anything. They'd probably look something like what merle looks like on dogs though I imagine. Some patches darker, some lighter, but with stripes, and all ginger-ish.

I probably will put amber in at some point, along with bengal markings, but because those two are so extremely breed specific, they probably won't be in the next update sadly. Plus for amber, there's not really enough pictures for me to use as reference on how things like chocolate and silver and such affect it. It looks relatively similar to a dark ginger when they're full grown, but the kittens are born black or grey and change as they get older, which is the main reason for the distinction between that and ginger. When they're young they can look really interesting, with the base color ranging from brown the red, and the markings ranging from black to dark ginger. The age factor also complicates figuring out how different genes affect the color, so it'd be fairly difficult to work it into here.
Here's a couple pictures of amber cats, they're absolutely gorgeous and definitely worth seeing. These are at varying ages.

This is honestly the most amazing thing I've encountered along the lines of creating a realistic cat. The lines, the markings, the spectrum of color available, everything is just astounding (especially the pattern-linked eye color option). Major kudos to you!

They're already in there. You have to have white to have blue eyes, and it has to be above a certain level (roughly a third white or so)

They are an option, but only when white markings are present and set above a certain level. Aside from colorpoint cats, which aren't in this version, that's the only way blue eyes are possible on cats.

this was nice,but i am using for a warrior cats OC adution and i cant give her the undercoat or blind eyes.maybe update and add that?

I don't know about blind eyes, since they'll most likely only change the eye color if there's and injury or illness and if I got into adding things like that, it probably won't be for a while.
But what exactly do you mean by undercoat? Are you talking about smoke, where the undercoatsl is light, making areas with longen fur light? Or are you meaning something to do with the actual fur length or appearance?

This is amazing! I definitely love the layout of this and the easy way to move around. The realistic cat is great to see since a lot of other "makers" go for a more "cartoony" route.

Oh my god! This is just purrfect! This is what I searched for years! All the other cat creators aren't sooo super good, because somewhat is always wrong, sometimes the eyes colors or the main fur colors or other things. But this seems to will be perfect! I'm in love with your cat creator. Thank you so much for creating this.
