Update 2: Very big and exciting news soon to come...!Update: I know it's been two years now, but I am in fact still working on this and planning to update it. I didn't have much time to work for a while. Right now I'm in the middle of rewriting the code from as2 to as3. There'll be a lot of behind the scene changes that'll just make things run so much smoother. On top of that I've redone the layout, which looks much nicer now, it's easier to read and use, and makes it much easier to understand how things work. The last thing I have planned before I officially release the next version is a redo for the art on the markings. Lineart will stay the same, but things such as tabby markings, tortie patches, and white markings will be fixed up, and will hopefully look much better.
I'd like to get some opinions on whether I should upload the full version over this deviation, or whether I should upload a second one so this version can still be used. Thoughts? Feel free to still comment and give your opinion on this, but it's looking like I'll probably end up putting this version on sta.sh, and uploading the new version over this. That way all favorites and links for this will still be intact, and people will still have the choice over which version to use. If you have any other opinions though, I'd love to hear them!

Realistic Cat Creator (RCC) is a fully customizable, genetically sound, cat generator. Currently in beta form, it includes 4 base colors; Black, chocolate, cinnamon, and red. Currently available markings are tabby, tortoiseshell, and white.
Options blocked out with the gray N/A block may be shown by switching one of the various on/off switches.

To save the cats you make, screenshot (no I'm not going to go into how to screenshot here, but if you think I should, feel free to comment and request it!) the page, and crop everything outside of the dark border around the cat if desired.
If you wish to upload the cat you created, you're more than welcome to, but make sure to read and follow dA's rules on this , and always give proper credit, either with a link back to this program, or a link to my userpage.
You are not under any circumstances allowed to sell the cats you create in this program for any kind of currency, nor use these for any kind of adoptables, free or otherwise. You are however more than welcome to use the design you've made and use it with a premade lineart, or in a drawing of your own, and you may sell, give away, and use that design however you please.
Feel free to link any cats you upload from this, I'd love to see them.

I might add whiskers in a later version, but considering skin color changes based on fur color, skin on the ears would be much too much trouble. Maybe if I get everything else I have planned on this finished, and I have some spare time, but otherwise I don't think I'll ever add that part.

Almost all natural colorings and patterns will be included aside from bengal markings. So yes, lynx point will be in there as it's simply pointing with tabby stripes. c:

Read the description. :b You can use the designs if you'd like, but you can't use the actual art from here. So no screenshotting and putting them up for adoption, but you can fill in a lineart, or draw one yourself.

i was in need of a realistic cat, and i was trying to find some adoptables but this came up and it's perfect~
here's what i ended up creating oi44.tinypic.com/beu6wm.jpg and ill tweak it a bit to make it more mine and use that~
i personally don't think it's very hard at all to use, just requires a bit of intelligence xD
though i saw a comment about how the layout may be a bit confusing where the base color can be edited, maybe if you put that in a row below the pattern types it'd be easier? since then it would have the same layout as the pattern types, and then eye color could be it's own box in the second column but idk that might make it look less appealing with a blank spot in the bottom corner xD

Yeah, I've considered a few different options for the layout of the full version. There'll definitely be some tweaks, but I can't decide the exact way it'd work best. The only problem with it having the same layout as the pattern type is it doesn't work quite the same as the pattern type, so it'd be hard to give it a similar layout. If all else fails, I'll put in an instruction/walkthrough option on the start screen when it's all finished.

ah yeah, maybe even like a small video of how to use the options and seeing their effects, like games do as a walkthrough type of thing~
i dont really understand a lot about flash though since im sticking to only ever learninghtml and css for journals but good luck with getting everything to work :3

Ah I know that feeling. xD I usually just scan through a bunch of pictures of cats on a couple sites and pull from there. xD I'm hoping to get a randomizer in here so I can just hit a button and get a character.
There's actually videos on youtube that have basic walkthroughs of it. The links are in the description. But it'd be nice to actually get something in game.

Currently no, but I certainly will if there's enough people who want it. The visible difference is just so minor it's not really worth coding at this point, as you'll be able to get similar colors by adjusting saturation and such.
