based on this drawing, samus definitely looks better with the fusion suit. and it looks great, so sleek and you captured her pose brilliantly. good job!
as for the game, i hope that the next metroid game is a huge improvement over other m.

I like the fusion suit because its much more easier to render than her Varia Suit. Fingers cross on a 3DS metroid

i will have my fingers crossed for metroid coming on the 3DS, and if i had things my way, i'd have retro studios making it instead of team ninja, who did 'other M'.

I'll stick to Metroid Prime, Other M ruined Samus as a character for me.

If anything Other M enhanced her character.
Instead of a barbie doll in a high technical suit who goes around killing space pirates, she's given a personality and the player is able to have in insight of what her emotions are like. By doing so, it reveals that Samus is a very deep and complex individual.
In fact, Other M was my favorite Metroid game.
The prime series do have tons of action, but they severely lack any character development for Samus.

Each to his own I guess, I prefer to think of Samus as strong, independent female character akin to Ripley instead of a vulnerable girl that needs a mans approval to use her suits functions, the same girl that breaks down when she sees her nemesis that she's encountered multiple times prior.
She's more of a barbie doll now from a design aesthetic, for some reason they decided to give her high heels for her Zero Suit in Other M. When she dies, her armor disappears to reveal her skin tight Zero Suit. It's character development at a twilight leve.

Though that tough exterior, underneath she's a human being with breathing emotions.
If you payed attention, you would've realized that Samus following Adams orders was an example of a Father-Daughter like relationship. Which she does explain that she viewed Adam as "a father figure", but your short attention span probably missed it.
You do realize why she broke down correct?
I'll give you a hint, it lies in her past.

Mistake number one: Giving Samus to Team Ninja. Seriously, what in the hell were they thinking? That'd be like giving Mario to Bungie, only that would be an actual improvement come to think of it...
