Name: Significantly too long to remember, and too foreign to spell. He has said, begrudgingly, that it translates to "Flowers-of-happiness-blooming-in-the-coldest-of-years-under-the-warmth-of-a-loving-gaze" in some northern dialect or another. Most resonable people just call him Spring- or "Flowers," if they'd like to be punched.

Taporaph - the two have been friends since Taporaph was fairly young, though neither can really remember why. They've just been in the same places at the same times and come to know each other very well. Taporaph is convinced that Spring is one of his best friends and an on-and-off first mate. When Spring arrives he greets him like family and the two quickly fall into pace together. Spring is a great hand aboard the ship, as he's constantly sick of the rag-tag crews bullcrap and straightens them out into top working order. He almost always seems annoyed with Taporaph, but the ship is one of the few places he comes to with any regularity, and when the two are on their game their work chemistry is steadfast.
Mouse - His best friend's lover and eventual wife, Spring treats Mouse with a degree of calm respect akin to friendship. He was slow to warm up to her, as he is slow to warm up to most caelis, but since Taporaph's ship is where he spends time the most consistently, he's allowed himself to grow somewhat attached to the small fieldmouse. While he'll often put on a show of only liking her because she's important to Taporaph, deep down he does genuinely enjoy her company, and he's glad to see her as a member of the crew. He'd stick his neck out to protect her if it came to it, but he won't say so.
Patzivota - When Spring and Patzivota met, it completely overturned her life yet again. The two got utterly trashed together at the tavern after each had a long and gruelling day of work, and it was one of the most relaxed and joyful moments of Spring's recent memory. He was so delighted that he paid both of their tabs, sang for her, and walked her back to her den- where he obsessively cleaned for the remainder of the night, as the rather lonely and depressed Patzivota had let her home get quite sad. He left as soon as he was done cleaning, headed to the dark forest for some business, and completely forgot about her.
Aries - Spring has known Aries since he was very young, and much like Taporaph, he's simply known her too long not to be friends with her. Whenever he goes to the northern nest, he'll stop by and check in on her newest practices and discoveries, often buying herbs from her to take along on his adventures- his work is invariably dangerous, or at very least chaotic, so it never hurts to brush up on his first aid and keep himself supplied. If prompted, he might reveal more about how they know each other and what their childhood was like, but Spring is generally very secretive about his history and his sentimentality.

He arrives mysteriously, unannounced and seemingly unimportant, and then later is simply gone without explanation or farewell. His mind is a safe of trivia and history he's collected from countless jobs and discussions, and his knowledge and experience are sometimes shocking for one who doesn't ~seem~ to have enough age or political interest. Despite having an incredible detachment from most caelis and a rather mysterious schedule and skillset, though, he never acts like an enigmatic figure. He's more like a stuffy, scholarly uncle who thinks the tiniest things are important. One might never even suspect how many places he's seen and how many lives he's lived if he does not recite some suspicious knowledge. He cares little for relationships with other caelis, as he doesn't often stay in one place for too long at once. Despite his busy and intrigue-filled lifestyle, he is not always so on edge. Part of his appearance of an average caeli is a casual air, after all. When he sets up shop, he'll wander around and attend festivals and buy fine wares just like any other caeli. If he's found at the back table in some unassuming tavern, he's only as likely to sing or brawl or tell stories as any other stranger. The two places where he lets his personality slip out the most, though, are the marsh tavern and Taporaph's ship. The company of casual and cheerful souls, the presence of drink, and the air of freedom all chip away at his stern and business-like demeanor, and he becomes more boyish and comfortable. If one can get him drunk, he'll even sing and dance, and maybe, just maybe, make a friend or two.

Born of two loving parents in the northern nest, he was treasured as a blessing by the doting family. His coat, adorned like the earliest sprouting flowers in the winter thaw, they took as a symbol of good and warmth coming into their lives, and so they named him "Flowers of happiness blooming in the coldest of years under the warmth of a loving gaze." This translated roughly to "Spring" in the common tongue.

In time, rumors have spread that he's been an adventurer, a spy, a mercenary, a ghost, and, more plausible, an archivist for a queen. That can't be true, though, can it? Surely a chronicler would be stationary for their duties to a palace...?
Much of Spring's TRUE backstory remains a mystery, and he likes it that way. Not an emphasis on it, no drama, just ambiguity.

Face markings are assymetrical- the splattering down the neck tends toward spine left and throat right. The right ear is predominantly withe while the left is about half. The speckling on the right side of his face maked a splotchy, wavering, natural band down the eye-muzzle line.
