Description
As a creative exercise I use to draw my own readings of characters that really matters for me. So, this is my version of John Hammond's last encounter with Procompsognathus pack, from original Jurassic Park novel. Β More in www.felipe-elias.comRelated content

the Compies look more like Ceolophysis due to how big they are

The original "compies" from novel were Procompsognathus, not Compsognathus. Procompsognathus are classified as coelophysoids.

There Procompsognathus in the book and Procompsognathus triassicus is closer to CeolophysisΒ than to Compsognathus longipes

Because this is not based in movie, but in original novel. "Compies" in novel were Procompsognathus (classified as coelophysoid theropods). Movie "compies" were more like Compsognathus.

Dude, have a little respect for the novels, and just don't fall for Spinolover's antics.

Oh, and by the way Hammond doesnβt look like heβs a good person in this picture, is he by any chance the villian? And if so did he do anything to cause the small Dinoβs to kill him?

Yes, Hammond is much more arrogant and greedy in the book, he only thinks about profit. If I remember correctly, he ventures outside, then he trips and hurts himself when he hears the t. rex's roar (it was actually his grandchildren playing with recorded roars), and he starts blaming them and all his employees for the failure of his park, before the compies stalk him like vultures and use their poisonous saliva to weaken him, before eating him alive.

Your illustrations are great! Do you plan on doing any other scenes from the book, like the Aviary or the sick Stegosaurus?

Thanks! This exactly two will be the next scenes I'm preparing to close this series. Keep watching! Β

The stark difference between book's Hammond and movie's Hammond always intrigued me. I must say I prefer the latter: he's naive and childish and doesn't understand the size of what he's trying to do until it's too late.

I like that Hammond too, He's so passionate about what he will show to the world and so caught up in the moment that he was blind to the consequences of playing god. Not to mention that bright smile on his face.

I agree, that's exactly what I meant.
I guess some of the charm movie Hammond has is due to the great Sir Richard Attemborouh.

In a future, would be great! For now I'm gonna finish this series with Aviary encounter and the sick stegosaur, because I need to concentrate in other projects.
